Nikkor 28-200mm f:3,5-5,6 G AF-D

It is a medium zoom general use with a minimum aperture of 3.5 - 5.6, with 12 optical elements in 11 groups, and it is able to focus until a minimum of 0,44 m.; carries 62 mm filters and does not rotate with the focus, what allows using filters as polarizers, degraded and this way. Also has a 7 petals diaphragm. It is almost everything of plastic, including the lenses setup, for that we have not to say anything good neither bad on their construction quality. The rudders and any other surfaces of almost actual airliners are composites and we do not complain.

The maximum distortion is appreciable barrel in the focal of 34mm. At 48mm the cushion distortion is appreciable and at the 200mm the cushion distortion is maximum.
AF is traditional, that is to say, screw mechanic. In addition, to tell the truth it is something slow and noisy for the times that run with those AF-S, but the quality of the focus is quite good.

The sharpness is normal, especially when it is about the digital world, with trend to be made softer in the edges. It is what you should expect from a lens of this category and price. Something that you would medium solve with the PS tools. The bokeh is not the best in the world, but, I insist, for that price..., we cannot request more. Nevertheless, it is a lens that it is good for almost everything and their reduced weight is ideal for the trips where you don't have to use a great one angle, because in a Nikon DX format transforms into a zoom 50-300mm, well with a capacity of increase of x 7.1. It is compatible with all the Nikon cameras and it includes a macro feature.

Also comment that are detected something chromatic aberrations in (purple) the corners, easily observables when you make zoom in the PC to 100% and there is some tree path, or any similar, with strong contrast. It is not anything that ruins a picture. The optics are Nikon, therefore, good quality and it could be the first lens long zoom for a fan.
